Tactile structures and luxurious, fine materials are the driving forces behind the fashion and textile design and art from the Young Designer of the Year 2010 Yonna Moriya.


Yonna has just been awarded the prestigious Young designer of the Year 2010 Award.

Organized by the Finnish Fair Corporation and supported by Finlands Fair Foundation, Young designer of the Year Award is a competition for the Finnish fashion design students. The objective of the award is to find new ideas and interesting solutions to fashion design and support young designers and Finnish clothing industry. This is the 16th time Young designer of the Year Award will be handed out. This year the theme of the competition was ”Business as Usual”. Business outfits were judged by the jury members of the Young designer of the Year Award: Fashion designers Jaakko Selin, Ritva Falla, Mari Talka and Hammi Mettinen and Fashion editor and stylist Nina Nuorivaara.

The award takes Yonna and her fashion design to Finlands largest fashion fair in Helsinki, "FASHION 2010" October 15-17. Yonna’s winning outfit and small collection built around it will be presented in nine fashion shows during the three day Fashion Fair. She will also have her own exhibiton stand in the Fashion Fair.
